BENEATH THE SURFACE
The man hidden behind his watch
Every aspect of the Inspiration One was curated to tell his love for the pursuit of chronometry through an architectural timepiece
THE MAN
He just stumbles on it
This wasn't supposed to happen. Passioned by car and on a course to become an engine specialist, he stumbled upon a watch-booth during the Paris Motor Show in 2006
Watchmaking quickly became a devouring passion: 500 years of history, watchmaker, technical endeavor, engineering knowledge… for someone who have always an urge to learn this was an oasis
Few years passed by before the new course was set. For the school bench of Neuchâtel, to the Lac shore of Geneva, which became his home
"To be creative you have to learn to live with the discomfort of not knowing, a good idea take a long time to materialize and it's important to doubt during that process"
— MATHIEU CLEGUER, FOUNDER —
THE ENGINEER
Solving technical problem is more than a job, is a calling
Mathieu CLEGUER was already on a course to become a mechanical engineer when he stumbled on watchmaking. His watchmaking journey really started when he sat for the first time on the school bench of Neuchatel's HE-ARC school in 2011
Being an engineer in watchmaking always rhymes with secrecy, even though you may admire or maybe own a movement that he helped shape. He cannot share with whom or on what he spent the first decades of his career
THE HERITAGE
Brittany shaped the man.
Geneva shaped the watchmaker.
He spend the first 20 years of his life in Brittany, his region is intertwine with who he is. His logo and dial design pay tribute to his Celtic French shore
THE CONVICTION
Independence was the only way to unbounded his creativity
Some ideas require years to refine, simplify, and elevate. Independence was the scene where fundamental ideas like creating his own escapement could be endeavored
